Job Description

The Accounting Assistant will support full-cycle accounting operations for multiple client books, ensuring accurate and timely financial records within QuickBooks Online. This role plays a key part in maintaining clean, up-to-date accounting data by handling weekly banking and credit card updates and supporting monthly accounting close processes.

This position requires strong attention to detail, adaptability, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal accounting team members and management in a fast-paced, tech-enabled environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Update banking, credit card, and other financial activity in QuickBooks Online on a weekly basis
  • Perform full-cycle accounting for client books on a monthly basis, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records
  • Support monthly accounting processes including reconciliations and reporting preparation
  • Communicate effectively with internal accounting team members and management to resolve issues and ensure alignment
  • Maintain organized and accurate financial documentation across client accounts
  • Ensure consistency and compliance with internal accounting procedures and standards
  • Utilize accounting systems and tools to streamline workflow and improve efficiency
  • Expected phone interaction: 0–25% of shift for internal communication as needed

Qualifications & Skills
Important Skills:

  • US accounting experience (required)
  • Strong knowledge of QuickBooks Online (QBO)
  • Experience with full-cycle accounting processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Karbon or similar practice management software
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple client accounts and deadlines
  • Tech-savvy with comfort navigating multiple software platforms
